SUSTAINABILITY
Businesses must take responsibility for the environment because their over-use of natural resources, depletion of forests, production of toxic waste that pollutes waterways and ocean ecosystems, and emission of carbon dioxide lead to global warming. The whole world is now urgently looking for ways to mitigate or even stop the continued impact of businesses on the environment.
Corporate environmental responsibility (CER) is derived from corporate social responsibility (CSR) and refers to the duty of businesses to reduce or eliminate their negative effects on the environment. This includes the reduction of waste and emissions, maximizing the effective use of resources and productivity, and minimizing activities that may harm the enjoyment of resources by the next generation as much as possible.
Our focus in recent years has been on CER-related areas such as increasing the use of green energy, replacing legacy office lighting with LEDs, switching to sensor-type water-saving toilets and taps, the use of reclaimed fillers and eco-friendly coatings in buildings and interior fittings, and so on.
